Sling length is measured from the middle of the pouch to the release tab, approximating a sling in a loaded configuration (folded in half). This is the length that is put into use while slinging.
As a general rule longer slings generate more power, while shorter slings are more accurate. Keep in mind that all of these lengths are powerful and accuracy can be achieved with each one. For more information on sling length check out this page from our Slinging Guide: Sling Length
Pan offers three standard lengths that have been developed to be a well-rounded selection for various slinging uses.
Standard Lengths:
22-inch More accuracy - shorter distances
27-inch Balances power/accuracy/distance
32-inch More power - longer distances
Within reasonable limits, there is no "correct" sling length for body size. Personal preference will play a large part in your choice of sling length. If you are looking for a good all-around length consider the 27". Also, if you want more than one length great discounts are available when you add multiple slings to your cart.
If you are looking for a custom length, please contact us. We can build between 18-34 inches. Custom lengths cost an additional $10 and require lead time to build.
*Note that all slings are within a half inch of the stated size.
**Please note that custom-length slings can not be returned.
