You roll it up for travel and it gets undone (and your paper diagrams are gone)
The only draw back (for me) is also a feature.
The increased modularity of the SR3 makes it easy to get the finger loop or the wrist retention loop in the wrong position during travel and using the SR spool.
Forcing you to either try and figure how it was set up, if you mess it up, or wait until someone from Pan/Sling Research gets back to you.
Case in point: this is my "finger loop"
And unlike my other much simpler slings, I don't remember how to return it to shooting position.
Do I: pass the entire sling through the loop?
Do I: slide the wrist keeper down?
I can still sling with this, but it doesn't look like it is in the videos.

Sure you can probably make one for cheaper but the whole experience with pan has been legit.

I'm still very new to this topic, and I discovered the Pan Sling by chance through a Reddit post—so I ordered the Machu SR3 and some accessories! Aside from how great it looks, I'm also thrilled with the quality and the modular system! I can therefore recommend the SR3 series models to anyone who values good quality, innovation, and beautiful design!
I think for overseas purchases where postage costs are very high, the cracker should be automatically included and the option not to have a cracker should not be there. A beginner that doesn't really understand the system might be like me: not order the cracker and then have to reorder the cracker separately, which costs very much money for a cheap part. That's not good.
Since young wanted to use this for fun, but never found how to be successful at making one. The equipment is well made. All in one and easy to carry, even on the wrist. Excellent instructions to follow and learn to use it effectively.

Im am very impressed with the sling and the total package. I added the cracker which is a must have option in my opinion for practice. The weight, quality and design are all very well thought out and function amazing. The device included for storage is excellent and easy to use. I just cannot say enough good things about this sling. I ordered two more for my boys for Christmas gifts.
